In sad news from over the weekend, Mandi Schwartz, former Yale women's hockey player and sister of two Colorado College hockey players, died over the weekend at the age of 23 following a prolonged battle against acute myeloid leukemia. Yale University will honor her with the Mandi Schwartz Marrow Donor Registry Drive at the university, an annual event that will next take place on April 21.
↵Her younger brothers, Jaden and Rylan play for the Colorado College Tigers hockey team, which made the NCAA Hockey Tournament and defeated Boston College, 8-4, in the opening round. Jaden was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the 2010 draft and was recently the recipient of a couple of freshmen hockey awards.
