2011 NFL Draft Goes Live At 6 P.M. On Thursday

Denver Broncos fans won't need to wait too long for their team to make its selection--at least that's one positive of having a high draft pick. That will be the Broncos' only draft pick on Day 1 of the NFL Draft, but for those who are fans of the Colorado Buffaloes it will be worthwhile to stick around to see where tackle Nate Solder and cornerback Jimmy Smith go. If you've been following along to this 2011 NFL Mock Draft stream, Solder is expected to go in the 20-30 range, as is Smith (though a selection in the teens is possible).

Here is the breakdown of Day 1's schedule:

What's happening? When the NFL decided to go to prime time for its draft, it was broken into a three-day affair. Round 1 commences at 6:00 p.m. MT on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 continue on Friday and Rounds 4-7 conclude on Saturday.

Where can I find it on my TV? ESPN, as always, will have wall-to-wall coverage, as will the NFL Network.

How long do teams have to select? On Thursday, teams will have 10 minutes to make a selection. The Broncos should be on the clock by 6:15 p.m. and be done by 6:25 p.m. While the long waiting period is used for TV coverage to gets all of its talking heads to chime in, the Broncos will likely wait until the last second to make a pick so they can take in all the trade offers they are likely to receive.
