2011 Big 12 Tournament: Colorado Buffaloes Enter As No. 5 Seed

The Big 12 Tournament schedule gets underway on Wednesday, March 9, with a game between eight-seed Nebraska and ninth-seed Oklahoma St. at 10:30 a.m. MT. This will be the last Big 12 Tournament with the Colorado Buffaloes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers as members. The Buffs head to the Pac-12 and the 'Huskers move to the Big 10 in the fall.

The top four seeds (Kansas, Texas, Texas A&M and Kansas State) all received byes to the second round and play on Thursday.

For the Buffaloes an early exit would doom their chances of making the NCAA Tournament. They lost to their opponent, the Iowa St. Cyclones, last Wednesday, 95-90. In their first game, however, the Buffs blew out the Cyclones, 95-69. With All-Big 12 first team forward Alec Burks and Sixth Man of the Year Levi Knutson playing for the Buffaloes, a deep run in the tournament could be possible.
