Raptors Vs. Nuggets: Denver Looks To Get Back On Track After Dropping Two Games

The Denver Nuggets return home on Monday night to play the Toronto Raptors. The Nuggets went 2-2 on their road trip, winning the first two against New Orleans and Atlanta and dropping the next two to Orlando and Miami. In the latter game, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 65 points against Denver in a game that had the Nuggets out of it early on. But they recovered to make it close at the end. However, it was the loss to Orlando that hurt quite a bit because Jameer Nelson nailed a three to win the game as the buzzer went off.

The Nuggets will be without point guard Raymond Felton for another game, but he expects to be back on Wednesday for the game against San Antonio. Arron Afflalo is out with a hamstring injury, reports Aaron J. Lopez, and could miss the next three games.

Danilo Gallinari returned in the game against the Magic and has put together two solid performances so far. He scored 17 points against Orlando and 23 against Miami, finding the free throw line 23 times and converting 21 of them.

Toronto enters the game 20-49, but on a two-game winning streak. They beat the Wizards and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the latter holding a 4.5 game lead over the Nuggets in the Northwest division. Toronto dropped their Dec. 10 contest to the Nuggets, 123-116, and gave George Karl 1,000th coaching win.
