NCAA Bracket Update 2011: Duke, North Carolina Book Trips To Sweet 16

Duke and North Carolina both booked trips to the 2011 NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 with Sunday victories. North Carolina played the No. 7 Washington Huskies in the first game of the day and escaped with an 86-83 victory. Tyler Zeller led the Tar Heels with 23 points, but the story at the end of the game was John Henson.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore, Henson had 10 rebounds at the final buzzer and several interesting plays in the final seconds. First he touched a ball that was about to go out of bounds and give North Carolina possession. With Washington getting one more chance, Isaiah Thomas took one last shot, which Henson may or may not have interfered with. SB Nation has video for you to determine if John Henson committed goaltending. The referees did not make a call and UNC escaped with a victory. The Tar Heels play the winner of Marquette-Syracuse

No. 1 Duke held off a late No. 8 Michigan charge and had to sweat out the final 90 seconds of the game. Duke held a 70-69 lead, which Kyrie Irving increased with a jumper. Darius Morris countered for the Wolverines with a layup, but then fouled Nolan Smith, who made only one of the two free throws. Morris made one last shot with five seconds left, but Smith, who scored 24 points pulled down the rebound as time expired. Duke escaped with the 73-71 victory. The Blue Devils face the winner of Arizona-Texas.
