Colorado Buffaloes Vs. Iowa St. Cyclones: Alec Burks Looks To Keep Buffs Ahead Of The Bubble

The Colorado Buffaloes enter their last week of regular season Big 12 play with games against the Iowa St. Cyclones tonight and a Saturday game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Buffs are coming off a huge 91-89 upset victory over the Texas Longhorns on Saturday and need to avoid the pitfalls of a letdown. A loss in either of these upcoming games could do great damage to their chances of making the NCAA Tournament.

At the moment, the Buffs are one of the last four teams in for the tourney.

Alec Burks will be a key player, and he was named Big 12 Player of the Week last week for his 23.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games. He averages 19.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season.

The Cyclones are 2-12 in conference play, but did upset Nebraska on Saturday with an 83-82 overtime win. Before that, they were on a 10-game losing streak. They did lose to the Buffs back on Feb. 1, 95-69.

Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. MT inside the James H. Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.
