Avalanche Vs. Flames: Will A Nine-Game Losing Streak End Tonight?

The Colorado Avalanche enter Thursday's game against the Calgary Flames with a nine-game losing streak and 19 losses on their last 20 games. On Wednesday night, the Avalanche blew a 2-0 lead over the Vancouver Canucks when they allowed three goals in the third period.

The Avs are trending up, though, in draft selection. Right now, their 60 points are good for the third overall pick (the way the lottery is set up that will most likely be their position). They are one point ahead of Ottawa and five points of the NHL-worst Edmonton Oilers.

In their season series with Calgary, the Avalanche are 1-3 with this game and another one in April left to play. That lone win came on Oct. 28, back when this team looked promising. The most recent loss came on Feb. 14, which was a 9-1 drubbing at the Pepsi Center.

The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. MT and the game will be televised on Altitude.
