Morehead State Upsets Louisville, 62-61, In NCAA Tournament 2011

The No. 13 Morehead St. Eagles pulled off the upset over the No. 4 Louisville Cardinals, 62-61. Down by two points with several seconds left to play, Morehead State's Demonte Harper made a three-point shot with four second on the clock. On the inbounds pass, Louisville got the ball down to the other end of the court, but Morehead State's Kenneth Faried got the team's first block of the game to give the Eagles the victory.

Faried, who suffers from asthma, scored 12 point and pulled down 17 boards. Guard Terrance Hill had a game-high 23 points and was second on the team with eight rebounds. Harper's game-winning three-pointer was the first one he hit all night, missing the previous five.

Chris Smith, brother of the Denver Nuggets' J.R. Smith, led the Cardinals with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. That performance helped the Cardinals overcome a slow start that saw the team open up with 10-0 deficit and eventually a 13-point deficit at 15-2 with 12 minutes left in the first half. Terrence Jennings had six blocks.

This was not a well played defensive game as the two teams combined for 26 steals and 34 turnovers. Morehead State will play the winner of the No. 12 Richmond-No. 5 Vanderbilt tilt.
