Colorado High School March Madness: Five Boys Basketball Championships Won On Saturday

Colorado High School March Madness came to an end on Saturday night as all five levels of boys basketball held their championship games.

At the 1A level, Caliche High School defeated Springfield, 72-47. Caliche dominated this game from start to finish with Springfield having little chance to win.

Denver Lutheran captured the 2A crown with a 61-48 victory over Lutheran-Parker. Joel Haywood, who scored 32 points, will play for Concordia University this fall.

Faith Christian overcame a first half deficit to capture the 3A title over Jefferson Academy, 49-41. Faith Christian has won four straight state championships.

In 4A action, Sterling defeated Windsor, 57-38, as Xavier Talton scored 22 points for the school's first state championship since 1984. Talton is only a junior, so he'll attempt to lead Sterling to another one in 2012.

Regis Jesuit defeated Boulder, 63-59, for the 5A state championship. Regis won its third straight state title. It was a ttightly played game that came down to the last seconds of the game. Boulder's Riley Grabau had 26 points.
