Nuggets Vs. Timberwolves: Can Denver Stop All-Star Kevin Love?

Following Friday night's loss to the Utah Jazz, the Denver Nuggets make a quick trip to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. This is the first of a four-game set that sees the Nuggets hit the road, return home, go on the road again and then return home before a three-game roads trip starts.

The Nuggets have dropped their last two road games, but that was part of a five-game road trip that they went 3-2 on. However, those losses came to the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Nets.

These teams last played on Wednesday, Dec. 29 in Minnesota. Chauncey Billups scored a game-high 36 points to combat Michael Beasley's 33 points for the T'Wolves. Billups was key with his six three-pointers. Kevin Love, who was named as the All-Star replacement for Yao Ming, put up 26 points, 14 rebounds and five assists. In their Dec. 18 contest in Denver, Love scored 43 points and pulled down 17 boards.

With only 11 wins, the T'Wolves hold the second worst record in the league, ahead of only the Cleveland Cavaliers (who have tied the NBA record for 23 consecutive losses, a dubious held by the 1997-1998 Nuggets and the 1995-1996 then-Vancouver Grizzlies).

This is one of those games the Nuggets should win, and we'll find out when the game tips at 6:30 p.m. MT.
