There's a new No. 1 in the nation after the Duke Blue Devils lost to the unranked Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday night. The latest NCAA Basketball rankings are out for the Coaches poll and the Ohio St. Buckeyes are the top team in the country. They beat Illinois and Indiana last week to improve to 27-2 on the season. They captured 17 first-place votes.

The Kansas Jayhawks, 27-2 as well, remained at No. 2 and took 14 first-place votes. The BYU Cougars, also 27-2, moved up from No. 7 to No. 3 this week after beating the San Diego St. Aztecs on Saturday. Duke dropped to fourth and the Pittsburgh Panthers moved up one spot to No. 5 despite a loss to Louisville over the weekend.

Dropping in the rankings are the Texas Longhorns. They saw a 22-point lead turn into an 89-91 loss to the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon and are now the No. 8 team in the country. San Diego State, previously No. 4, dropped five spots to No. 9.

The St. John's Red Storm made a 10-spot leap from No. 25 to No. 15 following victories over DePaul and Villanova. The George Mason Patriots entered the top 25 at No. 25. The Temple Owls dropped out of the rankings.
