Colorado Buffaloes Women's Basketball Upsets No. 15 Oklahoma

The Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team has had a tough season so far. After starting out 9-4 before Big 12 conference play began, the Lady Buffs entered Wednesday's game against No. 15 Oklahoma with a 12-13 overall record and 3-9 in conference play.

In an upset, the Lady Buffs sent Oklahoma to a 73-68 defeat. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for CU. Senior Brittany Spears powered the offense with 24 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Chucky Jeffrey fell short of a triple-double, totaling 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Meagan Malcolm-Peck finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Lady Buffs are 2-2 against ranked opponents this season. Including this win over Oklahoma, CU went 1-1 against Iowa St. and lost to Texas A&M. Their last game of the season comes against currently-ranked No. 3 Baylor.

While the Lady Buffs are not going to make the tournament, Northern Colorado has a good chance at making it. They will need to win the Big Sky tournament first, however.
