After a very unfortunate road trip where they were outscored 31-12 by the Boston Blazers and Washington Stealth, the 1-6 Colorado Mammoth return tonight to the friendly confines of the Pepsi Center for a game against the 3-4 Minnesota Swarm tonight at 6 PM Mountain Time.
Jamie Shewchuk will be making his return to the Pepsi Center for the first time since being traded a couple of weeks ago to the Swarm. Tim Campeau – the other member in the trade who went to the Mammoth – has not seen any playing time with Colorado yet but should get his first minutes tonight as according to the Mammoth website he will be suiting up for the game.
Both teams have already played this weekend as the Mammoth lost 20-7 to the Stealth on Friday and the Swarm were defeated by Boston 14-11 yesterday. Colorado had less travel time involved in that equation so if there is a slight advantage out of the weekend playing it should belong to the Mammoth coming home to the loudest house in Lacrosse.
There is no word on who will start in goal for the Mammoth as both Chris Levis and Matt King are having terrible seasons. Colorado will be once again trying to win their first game at home in well over a year. With Edmonton currently beating Calgary as I type this, it looks like Colorado is going to need to start winning not just tonight but a couple of games in a row if they want to make the playoffs.
