Nuggets Vs. Rockets Preview: Denver Needs Good Showing On Pre-All Star Game Road Trip

One week ago today the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets met at the Pepsi Center. Though the Rockets came away with a 108-103 victory, Carmelo Anthony tied a career-high with 50 points and added 11 rebounds in the losing effort. Now it is Houston's turn to host when the two teams meet up in the rubber match of their season series.

This marks the second of three road games for the Nuggets before they enter the All Star break this weekend. Last night the Nuggets lost 116-108 to the Memphis Grizzlies after squandering a 17 point lead in the third quarter. Wednesday night they travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks.

The road hasn't been so kind to Denver, who sit at 9-17 outside of the Mile High City. Houston hasn't fared so well inside their home arena, though, either, going 14-12 at home leading to a 25-30 overall record.

The Nuggets (31-24) are fully healthy and need to come off this road trip winning two of three games if they still hope to get into the playoffs. Right now Denver is sixth in the Western Conference, but a mere 1 ½ games ahead of ninth place Memphis.
