Pitchers and catchers officially report for the Colorado Rockies on Monday, Feb. 14, when love will be all around. Much of that love will likely be for their new Spring Training Facility that they share with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Ariz. This year will be the first year the Rockies conduct spring training in a place other than Hi Corbett Field. Check out Purple Row for pictures of the new facility.
On Tuesday, Feb. 15, pitchers and catchers will have their first workouts. On Feb. 21, position players report and then have their first workout on Feb. 22. However, it is likely many position players will arrive early for spring training.
The Rockies kick off their spring training schedule on Saturday, Feb. 26 against the Diamondbacks at the new facility. Game time is set for 1:10 p.m. MT. The schedule concludes on March 30 with a visit to Tulsa, Okla., to face their Double-A affiliate, the Drillers.
