Colorado Buffaloes Final Score: Alec Burks' 19 Points Help Buffs To 95-69 Victory Over Iowa St.

The Colorado Buffaloes snapped a four-game losing streak by defeating the Iowa St. Cyclones, 95-69, Tuesday night. On Jan. 15, the Buffs were 14-4 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12 play. They were even a few spots outside of the top 25 polls. Then they lost games to Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas (then-No. 6) and the Baylor Bears.

So the Buffs were looking for a much-needed win against the Cyclones. At 1-6 in conference, the Cyclones were at the bottom of the league's standings. Like the Buffaloes, Iowa St., too, was on a four-game losing streak. It was never even a contest between the two. The Buffs dominated from beginning to end. At halftime, the Buffs led, 49-34.

Alec Burks led the Buffs with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Cory Higgins added 16 points and five rebounds. Marcus Relphorde and Nate Tomlinson scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, to give four of the starting five double-digit point totals. Off the bench, Levi Knutson was the fifth Buffs player to score at least 10 points, ending the game with 15. Andre Roberson had a team-high 13 rebounds to go with his nine points.

Iowa St. guard Scott Christopherson led the scoring effort with 24 points on a night when his team shot 41.9 percent from the field.

Now 15-8, 4-4 in the Big 12, Colorado's schedule takes them to Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO on Sat. Feb. 5 to face the No. 15 Tigers.
