2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge: Stage Routes Waiting To Be Announced, According To Report

The 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge is expected to have an announcement on Tuesday to unveil the stages for the race, reports the Denver Post. The paper, however, has obtained what it believes will be the six stages followed by a time trial. The race is expected to begin in Durango while the time trial will take place in Denver, making it two years in a row that city will be the finishing point.

Other cities include Aspen, Boulder, Breckenridge, Colorado Springs (last year's inaugural host site) and Gunnison. The race takes place from Aug. 20 through Aug. 26.

Levi Leipheimer won the 2011 USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Boulder's Tom Danielson took fourth place in the race while 2011 Tour De France winner Cadel Evans was in seventh.
