The Colorado Avalanche continue to struggle on the road against the Vancouver Canucks, who lead 2-0 at home after two periods. Vancouver expanded its lead with another goal in the second period, despite taking less than half as many shots as Colorado in the first two periods.
Jannik Hansen scored Vancouver's second goal of the night, his eighth goal of the season. The Avalanche have been dominant in terms of shots on goal, landing 24 on goal compared to just 11 for Vancouver, but they've been unable to capitalize on those opportunities. Both Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider have spent time in goal for the Canucks tonight, with Luongo makings 13 saves and Schneider making 11.
It's been a rough night for Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov, who's given up two goals despite having only 11 shots attempted on him. Neither team has capitalized on a power play yet, but the Avalanche will probably need to in the third period to come back.
