College basketball is alive and well for the Metro State Roadrunners, moving to No. 1 in the Division II poll earlier this week. The Roadrunners are 9-0 and received five first-place votes in moving up from No. 2 to the top spot. Southern Indiana, Lincoln Memorial and Kentucky Wesleyan are all undefeated as well and each received a first-place vote. The Colorado School of Mines are 7-0 and No. 6. According to Metro State's website, the Roadrunners previously held the No. 1 ranking for two weeks during 2004 and 2005.
On Saturday afternoon, the Roadrunners host the Regis Rangers. For Metro State, Reggie Evans leads the team with 17 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over six contests while Brandon Jefferson puts up 14.4 points per contest. Jonathan Morse has the team-high average in rebounds with 8.7.
The Rangers have four of five starters averaging 10-plus points this season, but the team is 3-5 overall and on a four-game losing streak.
The game tips off at 5:00 p.m. MT.
