FCS Playoffs 2011, First Round Recap: Central Arkansas Defeats Tennessee Tech, Will Face Montana

Round 1 of the 2011 FCS Playoffs has come to a conclusion and the Central Arkansas Bears have advanced to Round 2 for a matchup against the No. 4 Montana Grizzlies. The Bears had no problems dealing with the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, coming away with a 34-14 victory.

In other FCS Playoffs action, James Madison edged Eastern Kentucky, 20-17, by scoring 10 points in the final quarter for the victory. No. 2 North Dakota State awaits James Madison next week.

In the battle for New York between Albany and Stony Brook, upstart Stony Brook won, 31-28, with Brock Jackolski scoring the winning touchdown on an 11-yard run with 12:40 left in the game. Jackolski threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns, leading the team back from a 28-10 deficit in the third quarter. They will face No. 1 Sam Houston State next week.

Old Dominion defeated Norfolk State, 35-18, and will face No. 3 Georgia Southern on Dec. 3.
