Cat-Griz 2011 Final Score: Montana Grizzlies Knock Off Montana State Bobcats, 36-10, In Brawl Of The Wild

The No. 1 Montana St. Bobcats (9-2, 7-1 Big Sky) won't be No. 1 once the latest FCS polls come out and they will also likely lose out on being the top seed in the FCS playoffs. They fell to the Montana Grizzlies (9-2, 7-1 Big Sky), 36-10, in the 111th Brawl of the Wild.

After a defensive struggle in the first half gave the Grizzlies a 12-0 halftime lead, the Bobcats opened the second half with a 30-yard DeNarius McGhee run and then a seven-yard touchdown pass to put seven points on the board (after the extra point was successful). But the Grizzlies answered right back with a 79-yard touchdown pass b Jordan Johnson.

The Grizzlies scored 10 more points on a 33-yard field goal and a Dan Moore 37-yard touchdown run toward the end of the third quarter. The Bobcats added three points with 14:16 left in the final quarter when Jason Cunningham, who missed an earlier attempt, made a 37-yard field goal.

But with 9:28 still left on the clock, Peter Nguyen rushed for 21 yards up the middle and put the Grizzlies in a 36-10 lead.

The Bobcats and the Grizzlies will be co-champions of the Big Sky Conference and now await Sunday morning's FCS playoff bracket.
