The 2011 Brawl of the Wild between the Montana Grizzlies and the Montana State Bobcats gets underway on Saturday for the 111th time. The Bobcats, No. 1 in both major polls, won this contest in 2010, 21-16, and will look to make it two in a row. With the victory, the Bobcats will win the Big Sky Conference outright with an 8-0 record (10-1 overall, the lone lose coming to the Utah Utes to start the season). A loss will land the Bobcats and the Grizzlies as co-conference champions.
The Grizzlies are 8-2 (6-1 Big Sky) with losses to the Tennessee Volunteers and the Sacramento State Hornets. The Grizzlies will make the FCS playoffs even with a loss, but a victory would certainly knock the Bobcats off from the No. 1 overall seed in the postseason.
