Boise St. Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore isn't going up against Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck only in the race for the 2011 Heisman Trophy. He'll also be battling him for many of the other postseason awards. One of those awards will be the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. He was recently named a finalist for the award.
The other finalists include Luck, Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden, Baylor's Robert Griffin III and Oklahoma's Landry Jones. To be eligible for the award, a candidate must either be a senior or a fourth-year junior who will graduate with the seniors.
This award isn't given out solely on this year's on-field performance, but through a variety of factors: "character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, and athletic accomplishments." (PDF). Wisconsin's Scott Tolzein won the award in 2010
