Oilers Defenseman Sutton Suspended Five Games For Hit On Avalanche Forward Gabriel Landeskog

The NHL has announced that Edmonton OIlers defenseman Andy Sutton has been suspended for five games after his direct hit to the head of Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog last Friday night. The league office has made hits to the head a point of emphasis this season, and Sutton will be suspended without pay for his actions.

Sutton has been suspended before for illegal hits, and his history did him no favors with the league. He has already missed one game, and will now be benched without pay for another four games. Click after the jump for the official video from Brendan Shanahan at the league office.
