Mountain West Football Results: Notre Dame Embarrasses Air Force, Utah State Whoops Wyoming

The Mountain West's action began with a mismatch between Air Force and Notre Dame and then ended with a contest between TCU and San Diego State. Here's how it all went down:

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-2) def. Air Force Falcons (3-2, 0-1 MWC), 59-33: Sure, the final point differential in the game was 26, but the game was never really that close. Most of those points came in the fourth quarter when the Irish were using their backups. Notre Dame slashed through the Falcons defense all day long.

Nevada Wolf Pack (2-3, 1-0 WAC) def. UNLV Rebels (1-4), 37-0: Nevada had 699 total yards of offense. UNLV had just 110. Nevada joins the MWC in 2012.

Utah State Aggies (2-3) def. Wyoming Cowboys (3-2), 63-19: The normally potent Wyoming rushing game gained just 82 yards on the ground while Utah State had 290. The good times from being 3-0 are now in the rear view mirror.

TCU Horned Frogs (4-2, 2-0 MWC) def. San Diego St. Aztecs (3-2, 0-1 MWC), 27-14: TCU avoided another slow start by getting out to a 17-0 lead at the half and lead 20-0 during the third quarter. Ed Wesley led the way for TCU by rushing for 146 yards while quarterback Casey Pachall threw two touchdown passes. The TCU defense had a great day and limited San Diego State running back Ronnie Hillman to only 55 yards on the day which is half of what is per game average is.
