College Football Rankings, Week 9: Boise State Stays Ahead Of Clemson As AP Poll's No. 5

The Boise St. Broncos remained steady this week in the latest AP Poll by staying at No. 5 and holding off the now No. 6 Clemson Tigers. However, the Oklahoma St. Cowboys and the Stanford Cardinal did leap the Broncos from Nos. 6 and 7 to Nos. 3 and 4.

The LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide remain as the top two teams in the poll. Oklahoma and Wisconsin, Nos. 3 and 4, dropped to Nos. 11 and 12.

Boise State is the only Mountain West team to make the poll this week, but the TCU Horned Frogs did receive four votes. The 7-0 Houston Cougars are the only other non-BCS conference school to make this week's poll.

Remember, the AP poll does not play a part in the BCS standings.
