Big Sky Football: Montana State Visits Northern Colorado

Montana State and Montana continue their run to the top of the conference standings. The former visits the 0-7 Northern Colorado Bears on Saturday.

There are four weeks left in the FCS regular season before playoffs begin in late November. The Northern Colorado Bears aren't even in the playoff picture as they are 0-7 under Earnest Collins Jr. The Bears will face the Big Sky leader, the Montana St. Wildcats, on Saturday. Here is the schedule this weekend:

Idaho St. Bengals (2-5) vs. BYU Cougars (5-2), 1:00 p.m. MT: Washington State crushed Idaho State in the season opener and BYU should do the same.

Montana St. Wildcats (6-1) vs. N. Colorado Bears (0-7), 1:35 p.m. MT: Earnest Collins Jr. is still seeking his first win at the helm of the Bears. He won't get it this week.

Southern Utah Thunderbirds (3-4) vs. Weber St. Wildcats (3-3), 4:00 p.m. MT: The Wildcats play an out-of-conference game with the Independent Thunderbirds. Southern Utah defeated UNLV earlier in the season while the Wildcats couldn't overcome the Wyoming Cowboys.

Montana Grizzlies (5-2) vs. N. Arizona Lumberjacks (2-4), 4:05 p.m. MT: The Grizzlies enter this contest riding a three-game winning streak. One of the Lumberjacks' victories came against Fort Lewis, a Division II school.

Willamette vs. Portland St. Vikings (3-3), 6:05 p.m. MT: Bonus points to anyone (excluding athletes and other students at the school) who knew Willamette is a Division III school. Portland State dropped back-to-back games to the Montana schools before this game.

E. Washington Eagles (3-4) vs. Sacramento St. Hornets (3-3). 7:05 p.m. MT: While the Eagles almost pulled off an upset over the Washington Huskies to start the season, the Hornets did beat the Oregon St. Beavers to open the 2011 campaign.
