The Denver Post is reporting that Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jonas Holos has decided to leave the organization and return to Norway.
↵Holos, drafted in the 6th round 2008, saw very little playing time with Colorado despite making the Opening Night roster last season. He played in 39 games last season, but fell victim to the massive upgrade in size that Colorado imported this offseason. At 5-foot-11, Holos no longer had a place on the roster.
↵Instead of reporting to AHL Lake Erie and hoping for an injury callup, Holos has requested out of his contract with the Avalanche. He's a solid depth guy, but with top prospects Cameron Gaunce, Tyson Barrie, and Stefan Elliott all ahead of him on the depth chart, Holos simply had no future in the Avalanche's plans.
↵Best of luck to Jonas!
