Broncos Roster Transactions: Broncos Sign Five To Future Contracts

Even though the football-playing season has ended for the Denver Broncos, that hasn't stopped them from making changes to the roster. The Broncos announced the future contracts of six players on Monday afternoon:

LB Dominic Douglas, RB Jeremiah Johnson, RB Brandon Minor, S Nick Polk, WR Eron Riley & DE Mitch Unrein were signed to future contracts. #fbless than a minute ago via web

Dominic Douglas was an undrafted rookie free agent in 2009 who played in four games for the St. Louis Rams. He did not play an NFL game in 2010. Jeremiah Johnson, a second-year player from Oregon, spent time on the practice squads of the Houston Texans, the Washington Redskins and the Carolina Panthers in 2010. Brandon Minor competed for a RB spot with the Chicago Bears during training camp in 2010 before being cut.

Nick Polk and Mitch Unrein spent the 2010 training camp with the Houston Texans before being released, same goes for Eron Riley with the Baltimore Ravens. All in all, warm bodies that the Broncos take a slight chance on. They will be added to the roster at the conclusion of the season in February.
