If you like high scoring games, you are bound to like it when the Denver Nuggets host the Houston Rockets tonight at the Pepsi Center. Denver ranks third in the NBA in team points per game, averaging a blistering 106.5 per outing. Houston isn't far behind, averaging 106 points per game, placing them fourth in the league.
The Nuggets (19-13) fell short of their scoring average last game, a 104-86 victory over the Sacramento Kings, but considering it was Carmelo Anthony's first game back after missing the five previous contests because of personal reasons, the team shouldn't be concerned.
Since Melo missed his first game, the Nuggets have been led in scoring by Chauncey Billups, who is averaging 25 points per game over the past six. They are also finally getting healthy as recently injured Nene, Kenyon Martin, Billups and Chris Andersen, the Birdman, are back to full strength. Al Harrington, who has missed the past three after injuring his thumb is considered day-to-day.
The Rockets (16-17) are paced in scoring by Kevin Martin, who is averaging 23.3 points per game. Luis Scola leads Houston in rebounding, while Kyle Lowry is the team's leader in assists and steals.
The game tips tonight at 7:00 p.m. and can be seen on Altitude.
