Jets-Steelers Game Score: Pittsburgh Holds 24-3 Lead Over New York At Halftime Of AFC Championship Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers hold a commanding 24-3 lead over the New York Jets at halftime of the 2011 AFC Championship game. Rashard Mendenhall capped a nine-minute touchdown drive in the first quarter with a one-yard rush to put Steelers up 7-0. A Shaun Suisham field goal, a Ben Roethlisberger touchdown run and a William Gay 19-yard fumble return for a touchdown put the Steelers up 24-0. Nick Folk kicked a 42-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to give the Jets three points.

Mendenhall has 95 yards on 17 carries so far and 32 receiving yards, the main highlight on offense. Neither quarterback has done too much to be excited over. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez did at one point have some linger pain in his arm.

This is a bit of a surprising score, given that both teams have stout defenses. Will the Jets be able to overcome their first half ineffectiveness and meet the Packers in the Super Bowl in two weeks?
