The Pittsburgh Steelers received the ball to start the AFC Championship game against the New York Jets and used the next nine minutes driving the ball down the field, eventually reaching the Jets' end zone. The Steelers went often to running back Rashard Mednehall on the drive, which paid off when he rushed for a one-yard touchdown run.
At the end of the first quarter, Mendenhall has 10 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger is 4-of-6 for 38 yards.
For the Jets, quarterback Mark Sanchez is 2-of-4 for 17 yards. Jerricho Cotchery has both receptions and all 17 yards.. LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene have combined for two rushing yards.
The winner of the this game will face the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV.
