Colorado Avalanche Forward Tomas Fleischmann Will Miss Rest Of Season

Colorado Avalanche forward Tomas Fleischmann will reportedly miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. He had been reporting shortness of breath for several days now and will be forced to take blood thinners for the next several months.

Fleischmann was acquired from the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Scott Hannan. He immiediately took off while with the Avalanche. Along with Matt Duchene, he was named one of the NHL Three Stars of the Week in December and leads the team in points scored with nine in the past ten games.

He joins defenseman Kyle Quincey on the injured reserve list and both will miss the remainder of the season. Forward Peter Mueller has also missed the entire season after suffering a concussion in the final preseason game.
