NCAA Basketball Rankings: Ohio State Is New No. 1 In Coaches Poll; Colorado Buffaloes Just On The Outside

The latest USA Today NCAA Basketball Top 25 poll results are out and there's a new No. 1 team. The Ohio St. Buckeyes took the spot from the Duke Blue Devils, who lost to the Florida St. Seminoles last Wednesday. The Buckeyes received 28 first place votes, while two went to the No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks and one went to the No. 3 Syracuse Orange. The Pittsburgh Panthers improved to No. 4, which left Duke at No. 5.

The San Diego State Aztecs remain the lowest-rated undefeated team (19-0) at No. 6. The Villanova Wildcats, the Connecticut Huskies, the BYU Cougars and the Texas A&M Aggies round out the rest of the top 10.

The Central Florida Knights and the Temple Owls dropped out of the rankings and were replaced by the St. Mary's, Calif. Gaels (No. 21) and the Arizona Wildcats (No. 25).

The Colorado Buffaloes, who defeated the Kansas St. Wildcats and the Oklahoma St. Cowboys last week, finished No. 32 with 23 votes. They face the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Oklahoma Sooners this week before a Tuesday, Jan. 25 home game against Kansas.
