When the Big 12 conference schedule came out and the Colorado Buffaloes saw their first three games, they probably thought they were being penalized for leaving the league. They might have been right also.
Today's game against the 13-3 Oklahoma St. Cowboys comes on the heels of playing the nationally ranked Missouri Tigers and Kansas St. Wildcats in their first two conference games. But luckily for the Buffs, they are hitting on all cylinders at just the right time.
After dismantling Mizzou, behind 36 points from Alec Burks, and defeating K-State in Manhattan, KS, behind 20 from Levi Knutson, the Buffs are one of three undefeated teams in conference play.
Oklahoma State is coming into the game looking to rebound after a 23-point loss at Texas A&M on Wednesday. In their first conference game, the Cowboys defeated K-State in Stillwater.
The key to the game for CU is to push the ball like they've been doing in winning 11 of their past 12. They don't have as good of an inside presence as Marshall Moses possesses for the Cowboys, therefore Burks, Cory Higgins and the guards need to take control of the game. Over the course of the season, CU is averaging 14 more points a game than Ok State, so tempo is what will be a determining factor for a CU win.
Another early start for the Buffs, as the game tips at 11:30 a.m. MT from Coors Event Center. If you're not near Boulder, you can catch the game on ESPN3.com.
