Heat Vs. Nuggets Preview: NBA Class Of 2003 Reunion

In doing research prior to tonight's game between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat, I discovered that during the offseason the Heat signed a guard away from the Cleveland Cavaliers and a forward from the Toronto Raptors. Apparently this was a big deal, as I found no less than a kazillion articles on the acquisitions.

Tonight's match-up will feature four of the top five picks in the 2003 NBA draft, as first overall pick LeBron James joins fourth and fifth picks Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to share a court with third overall pick Carmelo Anthony. Throw in perennial All Star Chauncey Billups and this might be one of the most star-laden games in NBA history. The pure ability of these five players would match up favorably against the starters in any game in recent history.

While the Heat (30-9) grabbed most headlines during the offseason for their player moves, the Nuggets (21-16) are now the team in the spotlight as rumors of mega-deals are capturing national attention. If the rumors hold true - and all signs point to them coming to fruition - this will be the last time that a composition of such talent is seen on the Pepsi Center floor.

The game tips at 8:30 p.m. MT but is worth staying up late to watch. If you can't get tickets to the hottest game in town, you can watch from the warmth of your house during the national TNT broadcast.
