This Ticket City Bowl is a brand new bowl this year and is taking place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, because since the actual Cotton Bowl is not being played at Cowboys Stadium the venue was open for a New Year's Day game.Well the Texas Tech 'Air-Raid' is officially over after this game as Tech head coach Tommy Tubberville wants to bring a running game to Lubbock and make the team more balanced. Even though Tech was leaning to a more balanced attack they still had an offense that threw the ball at one of the highest rates in the country.

Northwestern started as one of the hottest teams in the country starting off 5-0, but they faded badly down the stretch by going 2-5 to end the season. They did have one great win when they defeated then number 13 Iowa for not only one of their best wins this year but possibly their best win over the past five years.

Texas Tech with their still high powered offense is a nine point favorite over Northwestern, and now onto the predictions.

Rivals - All four Rivals writers take Texas Tech, but they have been on a skid by losing their last five picks when a majority was taken. Seventy-seven percent of Yahoo users picked Texas Tech to win this game.

CBS Sports - Three of the five pick Northwestern over Texas Tech.

USA Today - Seven of eight writers lean toward Texas Tech for the win.

Fanhouse - Brett McMurphy makes his picks by the spread and takes Northwestern to cover.

AccuScore - The computer takes Texas Tech 76 percent of the time by an average score of 38.8 to 25.6.

ESPN Bloggers - Big 12 blogger David Ubben takes Texas Tech to win 38-27 while Big 10 blogger Adam Rittenberg takes Texas Tech to win 35-24.

The Ticket City Bowl kicks off at 10 a.m. (MT) on ESPNU at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
