ESPN's nightly Web Gems have become ubiquitous throughout the baseball world that television announcers will routinely call a play a "Web Gem." So, who's the top Web Gem artist in baseball? We won't know for sure until the end of the season because there's a tight three-way race as we head into the final stretch of the season.
↵Mark Simon informs us that the race is between the Cincinnati Reds' Brandon Phillips, our own Rockies' Troy Tulowitzki and Tulowitzki's former college teammate and current Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria. Phillips holds the overall lead with 41 points, but Tulowitzki and Longoria are back one and two points, respectively. The Rockies' center fielder Dexter Fowler is eighth overall and second for center fielders.
↵Rockies fans, watch the nightly Web Gems and then vote Troy Tulowitzki and Dexter Fowler when they make it on there. Because we know it's going to be next to impossible for Tulo to win a Gold Glove. Those things are never given to those who truly deserve them.
