You live in Denver. You can watch sports AND be outside. Hello rooftops!

↵

All times Mountain.

↵

Jon Woods is having a blast in Las Vegas this weekend, so here's a list of things he won't be watching. But you should!

↵

FRIDAY

↵

Rockies at Padres: FSN-RM, 8:05 PM -- Aaron Cook vs Cory Luebke -- Veteran sinkerballer Aaron Cook makes a (hopefully) triumphant return from the disabled list in a must-win game. If the Rockies want any chance at the postseason in 2010, they have to sweep this series. A start against rookie Luebke is a promising start.

SATURDAY

↵

Rocky Mountain Showdown: The Mountain Network (Comcast ch. 411/948, DISH ch. 616) 12:00 PM Colorado Buffaloes vs Colorado State Rams -- The college season kicks off in the traditional intrastate rivalry. Both squads are looking to use this game to rebound from a disappointing 2009 campaign.

↵

Rockies at Padres: FSN-RM, 2:10 PM -- Jason Hammel vs Jon Garland -- An unusual Saturday matinee game pitting the Rockies' second best starter all season against the veteran leader of the Padres rotation.

↵

Chivas USA at Colorado Rapids: KWGN Chan 2, 7:00 PM -- The Rapids have been inconsistent of late and desperately need a home victory. After Saturday, there are only four remaining games at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for the 2010 season.

↵

SUNDAY

↵

Rockies at Padres: FSN-RM, 2:10 PM -- Jorge De La Rosa vs Clayton Richard -- Another matinee game with De La Rosa looking to continue his excellent pitching of late. If the Rockies are no longer playing for the playoffs by this point, at least Jorge will be auditioning for a free agent contract.

No Denver Broncos football this weekend, but make sure to check out the Taste of Colorado happening in downtown Denver all weekend! Plenty of food, live music, and a great place to spend the long weekend.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!
