Rockies Strike Early On Giambi 3-Run Double

The Colorado Rockies started Sunday’s game the same way they have played all series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers’ ace lefty, walked Dexter Fowler and Jonathan Herrera to begin the game. After both runners advanced on a Carlos Gonzalez flyball to right field, Troy Tulowitzki was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Melvin Mora struck out swinging, but Jason Giambi cleared the bases with a deep double that went off the glove of left fielder Jay Gibbons at the wall, plating all three runners and giving the Rockies an early 3-0 lead.
