Colorado's New Guys To Meet The Revolution

Colorado had a very busy week, trading Mehdi Ballouchy and Colin Clark away for striker Macoumba Kandji and midfielder Brian Mullan. Both of them should see some time on the pitch today when the Rapids take on the New England Revolution at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Colorado has gone 17-11-3 all time while playing New England and hasn't lost a home game since May, so the cards are decidedly stacked in favor of the home side today.

Central defender Julien Baudet being injured along with the two new additions and the loss of Mehdi Ballouchy should make for an interesting and new looking starting line up today. Coach Smith has even hinted at the idea of another change in formation to the 4-3-3 in order to accommodate his new striker while keeping the red hot Omar Cummings and Conor Casey on the pitch as well. It's also possible that Cummings could shift out into the midfield, where he played most of his minutes early in the season while Smith was still running the 4-5-1 formation.

Colorado could very well come close to clinching a spot in the playoffs with wins in three of their next four games. They're all at home against fairly weak opposition; New England, DC United and the Philadelphia Union. They need to start with a win today. Go Rapids!
