Rockies Lead Padres 5-1 After Three Innings

Jorge De La Rosa has thrown 3 spectacular innings, his only blemish a solo homerun to former Rockie catcher Yorvit Torrealba in the top of the 3rd inning.

In the 1st inning, the Rockies scored on an RBI single from Troy Tulowitzki, scoring Eric Young Jr. after he bunted his way onto the basepaths to start the game. San Diego stud left hander Clayton Richard appeared to be cruising, but ran into serious trouble in the 3rd.

De La Rosa helped his own cause by leading off the inning with a single and scored on a Gonzalez single for a 2-1 lead. But the Rockies weren’t quite done.

Tulowitzki came to the plate with runners on first and third, and he cracked his 21st homerun of the season into center field to give the Rockies a commanding 5-1 lead. It is the 10th homerun in the past 13 games for the reigning NL Player of the Week.
