Hey, no injuries! And the Rockies escaped Pittsburgh with a 2-2 split in the series.

↵

Peaks

↵

-Carlos Gonzalez is on fire! He went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. He fell a triple short of the cycle. Gonzalez needs to be in the discussion for NL MVP this year. He leads the NL with a .327 BA, is tied for third in SLG, and is fourth in OPS. He is also fourth in wOBA with .400.

↵

-Esmil Rogers, the starting pitcher, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a sacrifice bunt.

↵

Level Ground

↵

-On the mound, Rogers was OK. He allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings, walked one, and struck out three. Good enough for yesterday, but not good enough to stay in the rotation over Aaron Cook ... for now.

↵

Valleys

↵

-The Rockies split a series with the Pirates. The Rockies should be winning these series against the bottom-feeders of the National League. But a split is better than a series loss.
