Peaks & Valleys - August 6 - Broncos, Rockies Keep On Taking The Hits

August's start has not been kind to either the Broncos or the Rockies. Who didn't make the required sacrificial offering to appease the sports gods?

Peaks
-?

↵

Level Ground
-Aaron Cook was placed on the DL with a sprained big right toe. Chris Nelson will take Cook's spot on the roster, but that will only last until Sunday when Cook's spot in the rotation comes up again. It looked likely that Jhoulys Chacin would be the call-up for that, but he just threw a game last night for the Sky Sox. Esmil Rogers is now the most likely candidate to start.

↵

Valleys
-Elvis Dumervil possibly out for the season.

↵

-The Rockies lost to the Pirates, the second worst team in the majors and the worst team in the NL. Seriously.

↵

On Tap For Today
-More Broncos training camp.

↵

-Jason Hammel and Zach Duke square off at 5:05 p.m. MT.
