Jhoulys Chacin Attempts To Stave Off Sweep At Hands Of Diamondbacks

The Rockies' Jhoulys Chacin makes his second start since being recalled last week. His first turned into a loss as he allowed five runs in five innings to the Dodgers. He did this on five hits and five walks. However, his final line in the box score also included four strikeouts. Back on June 5, Chacin took a loss in Arizona when he allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings. Ten days earlier, Chacin did pick up a win against the Diamondbacks while at Coors Field. There he limited the Snakes to two runs in six innings.

The Diamondbacks received Dan Hudson from the White Sox back in July when Edwin Jackson took his pitching to the Windy City. He is 3-1 with the Diamondbacks, having won his first three decisions and dropping his last one. He's pitched at least seven innings in all four starts and over his last two starts has struck out 19 batters.
