Rockies’ promising right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin makes his return to the starting rotation, taking Jeff Francis’ spot after Francis developed shoulder tendinitis and returned to the 15 day disabled list. In order to call up Chacin, the Rockies have placed Taylor Buchholz on the 15 day disabled list with a back strain.
