Peaks & Valleys - August 16 - Broncos Play First Preseason Game

Ah, the Broncos completed their first preseason game last night and the Rockies took a series from the Brewers. How did it all play out?

Peaks

↵

-The Rockies won! The win continued the team's pattern of alternating wins and losses. That means we should already know Tuesday's outcome.

↵

-Troy Tulowitzki continues to show that this is his team. Give him a couple of weeks and he should be qualified for the NL batting average chase.

↵

-Ubaldo Jimenez didn't win his 18th game, but he was still impressive: eight innings pitched, three runs allowed, and 10 strikeouts.

↵

-Eric Young Jr. will receive a long look in the leadoff spot, and yesterday he went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Level Ground

↵

-The Broncos lost a preseason game to the Bengals, 33-24. Kyle Orton and everyone else on the first team looked good, but then the backups came in. It all balances out. Look for today's Top Five to be on last night's game. Who doesn't love Monday morning quarterbacking!?

Valley

-Clint Barmes, did you really misjudge the wind and fail to catch the ball?
