Rockies Lose In Extra Innings To Brewers

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Casey McGehee singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers edged the Colorado Rockies, 5-4, in the second test of a three-game series from Coors Field.

Ryan Braun doubled off Colorado’s Huston Street (2-4) to begin the 10th. After Street intentionally walked Prince Fielder, McGehee ripped a single to center field to plate Braun. With Chris Dickerson batting, Street uncorked a wild pitch to advance both runners into scoring position. Dickerson eventually grounded out to second.

Street then intentionally walked Alcides Escobar to load the bases, but Jonathan Lucroy hit into an inning-ending double play.

John Axford (7-1) pitched two scoreless innings of relief to get the win.
