Ubaldo Jimenez Answers Fan Mail

In the Denver Post's latest edition of Fan Mail, Ubaldo Jimenez took the time to answer some questions from Rockies fans. There are some really good questions in there that you should read, but I like the first question the best:

Who is the batter and team you most like to face. Also, if you could go head-to-head with any pitcher, past or present, who would it be?
-- Ellyssa, St. Louis

Ubaldo Jimenez: My favorite batter to face is any pitcher on the other team. I would like to pitch against Nolan Ryan. Because of the great pitcher that he was. I mean he threw seven no-hitters and he was such a great strikeout pitcher. To go against him would really be a tough task and I would love the challenge.

The thing is, if you put him on the mound today Nolan Ryan could still pitch better than much of the filler sitting on MLB rosters today. I'd pay a ridiculous amount of money to see a Jimenez-Ryan duel, and if Jimenez wants to be the best he better admire the best.

Also, if you are ever at Red Rocks keep your eyes peeled out for Jimenez running the steps there. Last year, I believe I walked past Jimenez at the 7 train's Citi Field stop after the Wednesday game was canceled due to rain.
