Todd Helton was sent to the 15-Day disabled list with back pain and first baseman Brad Eldred was called up from AAA Colorado Springs.
Eldred received the call up just days before his 30th birthday and will get his first major league start since 2007 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was hitting .267 with 22 homeruns in the Springs this season.
